Brand Verification Methodology
Last Updated: August 2026
At SwadesiHub (swadesihub.in), our goal is to help users discover Indian brands and make more informed choices. Because brand ownership, manufacturing, and corporate structures can be complex, we use a structured verification methodology when classifying brands on our platform.
Our Classification System
Brand meeting available evidence criteria for being Indian-origin or Indian-controlled.
Brand primarily owned or controlled by a parent group originating outside India.
Operated through a significant joint-venture structure involving Indian and foreign entities.
Information is insufficient or conflicting. We prefer Unknown over unsupported claims.
Ownership vs. Manufacturing
• A foreign-owned brand manufacturing products in India does not automatically become an Indian-owned brand.
• An Indian-owned brand manufacturing some products outside India does not automatically become a foreign brand.
